GGPoker is back with the sixth edition of its GGMasters Anniversary, promising another massive online poker event with a $10 million guaranteed prize pool. While this year’s edition drops the “Overlay Edition” label, history suggests a potential overlay remains likely.
GGMasters Anniversary: One Shot, One Dream
The hallmark of GGMasters is its freezeout format—players get only one buy-in, with no re-entries, rebuys, or add-ons. Every participant has a single shot at glory.
The tournament also features multiple starting flights, offering seven opportunities to qualify for Day 2:
-
Day 1A: February 1 at 12:00, 17:00, 22:00 UTC
-
Day 1B: February 8 at 12:00, 17:00, 22:00 UTC
-
Last Chance Flight: February 9 at 13:00 UTC
-
Day 2: February 9 at 17:00 UTC
Blinds last 15 minutes per level (8 minutes in Last Chance, 12 minutes in Day 2), with each flight running for 25 levels or until 10% of the field remains.
Players can qualify for the $150 GGMasters via satellites starting at just $1, available under the GGMasters — Satellites tab.
$250K GGMasters Ticket Drop
From January 25 to February 7, participants can win a random GGMasters ticket by playing any GGMasters tournament with buy-ins of $25, $108, $150, $320, or $1,050 (excluding Step and Satellite events).
A Look Back at GGMasters History
The first $150 GGMasters launched on January 5, 2020, with a $250K guarantee. The tournament concluded with a $27,820 overlay, won by Japan’s howardern, who made a heads-up deal with Israel’s fjhgs, earning $32,650 each.
Over the years, the GGMasters weekly guarantee increased:
-
March 2020: $500K
-
March 2022 onwards: Special Anniversary editions with multi-million-dollar guarantees
